Psychotherapy and Counselling
All of us experience times in our life where, either through unexpected events, or through a more personal sense of anxiety, we find it hard to continue facing our daily lives with any degree of confidence or clear perspective. Whether the issues causing us distress are related to loss, relationship difficulties, health, sexuality, a sense of meaninglessness, depression or loneliness, we no longer feel able to face the world in the way we believe we should.
PSC makes available private and confidential counselling and psychotherapy to people struggling with such life dilemmas. Such arrangements can be outside of any organisational context and are offered to individuals on a personal basis with a trained, experienced psychotherapist and counsellor.
Our approach to counselling and psychotherapy is based on existential philosophy. As such it involves a discussion based on enquiry: what does it mean to be you? We seek to understand, and explore, through description, our client’s world. This approach encourages us to be realistic about both our strengths and our limitations, and to acknowledge our givens as well as our opportunities. From this we can begin to help our clients make realistic choices as to how they want to live in the future.
Psychotherapy and counselling is offered to people within the London area or from Dorking, in Surrey, England.
